It's been 2 years since we interviewed Maarten Devoldere, just before Balthazar's One Love Fessival concert. Unfortunately the festival was canceled and we couldn't have a chance to watch them. You can find that interview here.
In 2 years, Warhaus released 2 great albums and i had a chance to chat with Devoldere before their upcoming Istanbul concerts on 14th and 15th of September at Salon IKSV. I think they will be the most unforgettable concerts of the year! So see you there!
Hi Maarten. You're living in Belgium. How is the musical atmosphere there? Is there any local bands that you may recommend?
Right now Belgium is PACKED with talent. For example:

You will play at Salon İKSV on 15th September. It will be your first gig in Istanbul, what do you feel about it?
Very excited to play these shows, the tickets went so fast we had to book another show on September 14th. This means so much to me. The last time i was in Istanbul, was about 4 years ago when i played here with Balthazar. Such a mystique city.
Salon İKSV has asked people that who they’d like to see on stage for new season and Warhaus was one of the most requested bands. Did you ever know that you are that much loved in Istanbul?
I heared about this just recently. I'm still speechless about the fact that people all around the world listen and love my music. These 2 shows in Istanbul will be my last shows before head of with Balthazar again so they'll be 2 nights to remember.
Your last album Warhaus released last year. What is next? Will we able to listen new Balthazar album soon?
Yes! We'll be releasing a new album with Balthazar at the beginning of next year, so i'm sure i'll be visiting Istanbul again soon!
You are playing at so many countries along Europe tour. Is there any spesific venue or city that you like to play most?
Too many to mention, the enthousiasm in Athens, Greece. The dedicated fans in Kiev, Ukraine. Playing for my dearest friends in Belgium. Playing in Bucharest, Romania for the first time and looking at a packed sold out venue. It's all pretty amazing when you think about it.

Is there anything that you are so passionate about except music?
Not a lot of people know this but i'm a huge fan of baby pigs, in my hometown there is a shelter for these kind animals where i'm a volunteer. So whenever i'm not touring or writing music, i'm raising these little piglets and give them a better future.
